C++ and Qt software development project (Snoqualmie)

Zetec, Inc. is currently seeking candidates for an ASAP 3-month Software development contract. Strong C++ and Qt experience required to help us wrap up an interesting hardware interface tool.Zetec is a global company with 300 employees in the U.S., France, South Korea, Quebec, and most recently, Japan.Our company designs and manufactures non-destructive testing equipment that is used by power plants around the globe to help insure their facilities are safe, productive and cost efficient. It is a fascinating application of technology and our company has been the industry leader for 40 years.
Zetec, Inc. is part a $500m+ division of publicly traded, Roper Industries (NYSE: ROP). We are headquartered in the Cascade foothills on Snoqualmie Ridge just 8 miles East of Issaquah. While the location might seem off the beaten path, it is a reverse commute from most points in the Puget Sound and is easily accessible just off of I-90. Our offices overlook scenic Mt. Si and with walking trails nearby our staff can frequently be seen taking a walk during the business day (for those who really work up a sweat we have on-site shower facilities!).
The individual who will be most successful in this role will have a roll-up your sleeves, get it done attitude, be adaptable, love to learn and operate with a high degree of integrity.
ESSENTIAL TASKS & DUTIES:
- Designs, develops, maintains and troubleshoots software programs for applications in PC and client/server areas with limited direction.
- Works with Sales and Marketing and other areas within Zetec during the development of new software products to define product requirements.
- Completes complex design for new software products upon approval of specifications and performs basic to complex maintenance on existing software products.
- Works with Product Test team to enable them to complete program testing and then develop specifications to resolve complex problems.
- Other duties and overtime as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
For reasons of export compliance individual must be a US citizen or a US Permanent Resident. Individual must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter and may be subject to a Federal background investigation.
- Experience in a windows platform using C++ and Qt required
- XML, STL, SQL, and Boost experience preferred.
- Effective communication skills, including strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to work toward and achieve scheduled deadlines.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic to moderately complex system problems.
- Bachelors degree in computer science or related technical field or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of two to four years programming experience in a variety of languages, including object-oriented languages.
- Experience designing and implementing user interface based applications required.
- Experience interfacing with hardware control systems required
