Spectrum Controls, Inc., a growing product leadership company providing electronic instrumentation to the Industrial Automation market, is seeking an experienced Adobe Flex User Interface Developer to develop application interfaces for industrial networking appliances.
QUALIFICATIONS:
This is a high impact position that requires a creative, self-motivated individual who is able to translate market needs into highly appealing application interfaces that are a pleasure to use. Candidate must have a talent for collaborative, iterative, product development in a smaller company setting.
EXPECTATIONS:
* Excellent Adobe Flex 3 and ActionScript skills
* At least 5 years of Web/UI development experience
* Comfortable with conceptualization phase of GUI development
* Knack for designing appealing user interfaces
* Able to develop user interface concepts into a testable user interface specification
* Familiar with Flex 3 modules and data passing
* Familiar with public components/controls such as Data Visualization, Graphing modules, etc.
* Comfortable in the Flex 3 debug environment
* Understands Flex 3 UI test methods and can contribute to test strategy
* Proficient with standard source code control tools (i.e. SVN)
* Familiar with iterative product development methodologies
* Strong interpersonal and team skills
* Able to provide work examples
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Studio, PHP, SQL, and Linux development is a plus.

Web Languages: working knowledge of HTML, XML, XSLT, JavaScript, CSS
Web App Servers: Experience with one of the following: WebLogic, Tomcat, JBoss, Active MQ, Webshpere
Database: Have fundamental knowledge of relational database theory. Need to be able to create queries/stored procedures/T-SQL and interact with the database. Worked with one of the following databases: Oracle 8i/9i, SQL Server, MySql, Sybase
Web MVC frameworks: Experience with one of the following: Spring, Struts, Stripes
Source Control Tools: Must have knowledge of one of the following: CVS, Perforce, SVN, Clearcase
Experience working with HIBERNATE a plus
Above average analytical skills
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to work independently or in a team environment
Education/Certification:
-This position requires a degree in Computer Science or related discipline AND 4-6 years of professional programming experience or equivalent.
