Test Engineer II Linux / Python / Networking – (JR12514) (Lower Queen Anne)

Position Summary
The Management Products group is looking for someone familiar with network administration and\or server management and administration in large deployments to work on our Enterprise Manager test team. This previous experience, strong test and technical background will allow you to participate in and influence the manageability of F5 products for our customers. Besides a strong technical background we are also looking for a candidate with strong communication skills and experience with online interactions with customers (forums, blogging, demo videos, etc.).

Responsibilities
  • Follow test standards and procedures under general supervision.
  • Performs system testing of new products, as well as new releases of existing products.
  • Contributes to the documentation of test results.
  • Helps analyze test results to ensure existing functionality.
  • Participates in project scope and estimating.

Qualifications
  • 1-4 years experience in a testing environment, in a LINUX environment
  • 1-4 years experience authoring and developing functional test cases and automation
  • BS/BA in Computer Science or related field, or related experience
  • Familiarity with F5 Networks products a plus
  • Knowledge and experience with test methodologies used in software development
  • 2-4 years UNIX experience with strong application and network troubleshooting skills
  • Strong Python- Object Oriented & MySQL (administration and query syntax) required
  • Familiarity with STAF\STAX, Testopia & Selenium a plus
  • Strong Analytic / trouble-shooting skills
  • Ability to effectively interact both verbally and in writing with users of the F5 product(s) as part of team meetings and collaboration
  • Experience with blogging, podcasting and online customer interaction (forums and newsgroups) a plus
  • Able to collaborate and thrive in a fast-paced high-performance environment

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Duties are performed in an office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table as well as some time in onsite data center racking and configuring machines. Duties require the ability to utilize a computer keyboard, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material. May include lifting up to 40 pounds.
