Rails Developer
Over the last two years, Bonanzle has been amongst the fastest growing marketplaces in all of ecommerce. Since launching in late 2008, we have grown to over 2 million monthly visitors and more than 3 million items posted for sale. We recently won the Seattle 2.0 award for 'Best Boot strapped Startup' and raised an angel round of financing to fund our growth. We are looking to continue our aggressive growth by adding all star talent to our small team. As Bonanzle's Ruby on Rails developer, you will work with the Product Lead, CEO, and other developers to craft a code base that is modular and able to evolve quickly. Just as our company does. Our core company goal is to hire the best people possible, give them clear objectives, and let them flex their creative muscles without being micromanaged. We keep our processes to a minimum so you can keep your output at a maximum.
We have a great new office location in the Pike/Pine corridor on Capitol Hill. We're minutes from Broadway and downtown Seattle.
Requirements
* Three years experience coding web applications (at least half of which was spent using Rails)
* Extremely strong coding skills, with talent that has proven itself through a continuous string of successful projects.
* Ability to quickly digest, conceptualize and modify unfamiliar code.
* Penchant for writing DRY, highly flexible, Rails code.
* Deep familiarity with databases, preferably Mysql. Prefer experience working in databases of millions of records.
* Worked in Linux two or more years.
* Excellent command of written and spoken English, and permanent legal right to work in the U.S.
* Experience in a startup environment: May involve work after normal business hours, and being on-call.
* Ability to commute to the Seattle area.

Summary
Key member of the test team. Responsibilities include identifying and defining detailed system and subsystem tests for communication systems and their associated interfaces with other applications, preparing test plans and defining test configurations to support required tests. Appropriately represent the needs of stakeholders while maintaining overall project integrity.
Major Duties:
Based on an understanding of product and system requirements and functionality, participate in the development of test plans and test cases.
Generate test scripts.
Prepare and maintain test plans.
Work closely with the development team, program office, and customers in identifying required tests.
Participate in functional, integration, usability, configuration and installation testing.
Execute test cases in accordance with test plans.
Communicate test results and status.
Evaluate the outcome of each test cycle and participate in reviews.
Essential:
Minimum of a BS degree in engineering, computer science, or related field
5+ years experience with communication systems test engineering and requirements analysis
Detailed knowledge of both manual and automated testing of embedded systems
Detailed knowledge of Ethernet networks, TCP/IP, and other communication protocols
3+ years experience using a scripting language for testing and control of products and systems
Clear understanding of embedded software development practices
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills plus well-developed office software skills
Organized and detailed self starter, able to work independently with little supervision
Adapts readily to changes in scope and purpose
Understanding of common software failures and faults
Desirable
Experience with development or testing of wireless systems and products
Experience in development of embedded software, C/C++, and real time systems
Working knowledge of common RF, wireless protocols, network topologies, and IT infrastructure
Working knowledge of telecom networks
